Merry Christmas Soldiers

When doing your Christmas cards this year, take one card and send it to this address. If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of how many cards these wonderful special people who have sacrificed so much would get. A Great Idea!!!

When you are making out your Christmas card list this year, please include the following:

A Recovering American Soldier
C/O Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue, NW
Washington,D.C. 20307-5001

If you approve of the idea, please pass it on to your e-mail list, thanks and Merry Christmas!

Hey Ricky, I love this idea but it won't work. They won't take them for security reasons.

I just heard last night the same as julieta said. They were talking in that piece about mail and cards addressed to "Any Wounded Soldier" will be thrown out. Reason is "terrorism, or risk of soldiers receiving hateful messages from anti-war activists." It is very sad. My son has been in the military going on 8 years. I recall him telling me about when he was on his first deployment he received a care package at Christmas that was addressed specifically to him, with a return address. It was an "Adopt a Sailor" program where organizations have lists. It is sad that in this day and age even charitable acts of kindness have to be regulated.
