No not that Jesus; this is a blog about living with my father, Jesus (pronounced: heh-sus). The trouble with Jesus is that he has to live with Alzheimer's Disease; I have to live with Jesus, he's my pop and my new roommate. This blog is about both the frustration and the happiness of living with a man on a daily basis in a sort of role-reversal of sorts. My name is Ricardo and I take care of my pop; what lays ahead - GOD only knows. So let the adventure begin...

Hi Ric,
My sister-in-law has late stage Alzheimer's. My 80-year-old brother cares for her, with help, at home. We are 3000 miles apart, but I try to talk to him every day. Being the caregiver is a hard job, no illusions allowed. Be sure to take care of yourself, physically, spiritually and emotionally, as you care for your Father. And God Bless the tender-hearted ones!
All the best!
Deb
Deb:
May GOD bless you now and always for your kind words! I truthfully believe that unless you are personally affected by Alzheimer's (directly or indirectly) you do not know how terrible this disease is in that it impacts not just the afflicted one, but those loved ones that surround him/her. It truly is quite diifficult.
Best Regards, Ric
